The Rockville Community Block Watch presents National Night Out Tuesday, August 7th at Talcott Park, in Rockville. This free event fills Talcott Park with food, entertainment, activities, demonstrations, prizes and most importantly, community spirit. Rockville Community Block Watch will be hosting the Vernon community’s “National Night Out” (NNO) on August 7, from 5-9 pm in Talcott Park, in Rockville. The events goal is to bring together local residents in a casual setting of entertainment and community spirit.
The event will feature live local entertainment, McGruff the Crime Dog, food, karate demonstrations and Vernon Police Department K-9 team. Activities on Vernon’s Showmobile will kick-off at 5pm with stage acts including magician Bryan Flint, martial arts demonstration and music by Blue’s Deluxe Band. Additional activities will include balloons, contests, and face painting.
This is an annual event that has taken place nationally since 1983. The Block Watch in Rockville has participated often in past years. As with last year this event will fill Talcott Park with entertainment, activities and most importantly, community spirit. Many area organizations will have booths with activities and informational material. The event has garnered many local sponsors such as Rockville Bank, Target Stores (National NNO sponsor), Dr.’s Shapiro and Marmer, Bouncin Around and Vernon Motor Cars.
